How do you raise a growing gorilla? Very carefully, of course! The movie takes us through Buddy's growing stages as the love strengthens between Trudy and him. However, the bigger Buddy gets, the bigger the problems.
From the visually impaired point of view, most of this movie was about listening to the sounds of chimpanzees and gorillas. There was very little dialogue and lots of scenes with animals doing cool things. I needed a constant supply of running descriptions from my sighted assistant and a sharp imagination to stay connected at all to the story line. Very difficult. Things became a little more tolerable toward the last third of the movie, but it was still a struggle. I cannot recommend this movie, even for die-hard animal lovers. I think it's just too hard. I'll give this movie a 2.
