BLINDSPOTS:
Movie Reviews for Visually Impaired People

"101 Dalmations," is rated "G" and has a running time of about one hour, forty minutes. The movie stars Glenn Close, who does an excellent job portraying the mean and selfish Cruella DeVil, while Jeff Daniels plays the innocent master of Pongo, his male dalmatian. I remember loving the original movie, when I was ten years old, and it's possible that this remake will be loved by lots of children. But I think it's just a poorly done version of a Disney classic.

From the visually impaired point of view: If you are a dog lover and smile every time you hear the sound of barking dogs, then this movie may bring you some pleasure. Otherwise, this is a good one to pass on. The movie started out weakly, with quick flashes, lots of music and very little dialogue. Then it got increasingly worse, with continual adventure scenes with music, lots of barking dogs and no dialogue at all. I offered to buy my sighted assistant a drink after the show, appreciating her commitment to giving me descriptions when needed. I've struggled with tough movies before that had good content and were worth the struggle. This is not one of those movies. I'll give this one a 2.
