BLINDSPOTS:
Movie Reviews for Visually Impaired People

"Female Perversions," rated "R" and with a running time of a little less than two hours, appears to be an artsy, low-budget film about female sexuality in our society and how deeply confusing it can be to so many women.

Eve Stevens, played by Tilda Swindon, is a sharp attorney who is excited about being considered for a judge's position. Her younger sister, Madeline, portrayed by Amy Madigan, is working on her dissertation at UCLA, but is rebellious by nature and gets arrested for shop-lifting. Old sibling rivalry intensifies as the two sisters spend more time together after the arrest.

From the visually impaired point of view, this movie was a struggle, with fragmented scenes, long segments of silence and too many weird riddles that never got solved. The voices were not clear and very hard to differentiate. There were a few scenes with flashes of memories, dream-like visions and hallucinations that were challenging for my sighted assistant to describe.

I'll give this flick a 4 and cannot recommend it at all.
