BLINDSPOTS:
Movie Reviews for Visually Impaired People

"Fly Away Home," rated "PG," with a running time of about two hours, is a fascinating and educational picture about Canadien geese and their migration instincts. Jeff Daniels and Anna Paquin play father and daughter, separated for years but now brought together through tragedy. Their relationship grows closer as they conjure up a plan to save the lives of 16 baby geese.

This wholesome family movie will bring tears to your eyes and environmentalists will love it.

From the visually impaired point of view, this was another toughie. The first five minutes had a lovely song, but no dialogue while the scenes flashed by, definitely a forerunner of things to come. In fact, a majority of this movie had long periods with no dialogue at all. I had To endure a running commentary from my sighted assistant through the first two thirds of the flick. Not my idea of an enjoyable evening out at the movies. If you love animal stories you might want to give this one a chance, but remember to bring along your best sighted assistant as well as your creative ability to visualize. You'll need it. I rate this one a 3.
