After his bachelor party, Ben, played by Ben Affleck, goes to the airport, to catch a plane to Savanna, Georgia for his wedding. Sitting next to him on the plane is Sara, Sandra Bullock, a very attractive woman. They strike up a cautions conversation which is abruptly interrupted by an aborted take-off. After the chaos on the runway and at the airport, Ben and Sara, both determined to get to Savannah but not quite willing to attempt another airplane adventure, make fast friends with Nick, a guy who is driving down south by car. The next couple of days are filled with an onslaught of absurd catastrophes that help Ben and Sara grow closer and force Ben to question his sanity for getting married.
From the visually impaired point of view. The movie begins with Ben's bachelor party, lots of guys, loud music and a naked woman covered by balloons who dances and slowly reveals herself. Very visual. You'll need descriptions from the get go. The good news is that most of the movie is focused around Ben and Sara with many other people playing supportive roles. There was lots of dialogue between the two and this was comforting. However, there was lots of loud music which definitely interfered with the dialogue. There were many scene shifts, back and forth from Ben and Sara to Savannah and Benšs prospective wife, Brigit. This was difficult at first, but after awhile you will get the transitions without too much struggle. There was a dance scene, a swimming pool scene and a strip scene at a gay club, all of which needed descriptions.
This was not an easy movie to follow, however it was funny and sweet. I'll give it a 5 and encourage you to take a good sighted assistant.
