In spite of his high marks and an uncanny ability to bring laughter and joy to the sick in the hospital, Patch has some trouble making the school faculty see things his way.
I think all doctors and prospective doctors should see this movie. It challenges age-old "wisdom" in the medical world that appears to be somewhat distressed and rigid.
From the visually impaired point of view: This movie starts out with a nice narrative to give you immediate information. That's a good beginning, unlike so many other movies. There is lots of dialogue, distinct voices and a reasonable sequence from scene to scene. There were three specific places where things were difficult. Two scenes in the children's hospital wing were all visual. It's pretty obvious that Patch is working at getting the kids to laugh, but you'll need a sighted assistant to talk you through all the funny antics. The other tough scene was when Patch and a patient are in a tub of noodles. Assistance will be needed here, too, to enjoy the effects of the scene.
All in all, this picture was relatively easy to follow. It's a good movie with good values. I'll give this one an 8 and encourage you to see it.
