Travolta plays a confident, tough loan shark who occasionally shows a sweeter, more charming side of his character. His performance, in my opinion, is very good, but it was not enough to keep me interested in the story. There were a few good lines every now and then, however the movie just wasn't very funny. To sum it up, I found myself yawning and heard one patron snoring a few rows behind me.
From the blind point of view, the voices were pretty distinct and there were only a few characters with speaking parts through the whole movie which made it rather easy to follow. However, there were subtitles in at least three places when scenes shifted from Miami to Brooklyn to Los Angeles. This would be quite difficult to pick up on without a sighted assistant. In addition, there were a few scenes with just music and no dialogue.
I think this movie, although quite lacking in content, can be followed and enjoyed by any visually impaired person who goes with a sighted friend. I rate this one a seven. I just hope your friend stays awake.
