Hank, played by Bill Paxton, his brother Jake (Billy Bob Thornton), and their friend Lou go hunting after a fox. Instead of the fox they find a plane wreck with a ton of money on it. Hank's the conservative one and wants to give the money to the police, but Lou and Jake convince him otherwise. The simple plan they come up with is to hold the money for six months. If everything goes smoothly they will all split the money and move away. Things don't go smoothly, however. In fact, just when you think things can't get worse ... well, they do.
From the visually impaired point of view: Here's another one of those movies with bang-bang-shoot-'em-up scenes that leave blind people confused, wondering who shot whom. The beginning was difficult, five minutes of silence as the visuals painted the picture for the sighted. You'll need to ask lots of questions in this part to stay connected. Things get better after that, however. There are only three main characters, Hank, Jake and Lou. Their voices are not too distinct but after a while you'll get familiar with their personalities. The music was good for building the tension, but was actually quite unnerving at times. The end of this film is about as difficult as the beginning. It's filled with tension and you really don't know what's going to happen. I won't give away the ending with details. All I'll say is bring a good sighted assistant.
There were enough segments with lots of dialogue for me to give this movie a 6. If you like thrillers and sick killer movies, well, this one might be enjoyable for you.
