BLINDSPOTS:
Movie Reviews for Visually Impaired People

"Tin Cup," rated "R" and with a running time of two hours and twenty minutes, is supposed to be a comedy. I'm still wondering why they decided to call it that. Kevin Costner plays a down and out golf pro who exchanges golf lessons for therapy sessions with Dr. Molly Grizwald, played by Rene Russo, a psychologist who wants golf lessons. She happens to be dating David Sims, played by Don Johnson, who just happens to be Costner's arch enemy and the official "bad" guy in the movie. The typical love triangle is set and gets played out in the most boring and superficial ways. This movie tried my patience, however golf enthusiasts will probably enjoy it simply because it highlights the game of golf.

From the visually impaired point of view. This was not too difficult a movie to follow, in spite of many visuals of golf courses and golf shots. The dialogue was easy, with only four main characters with distinct voices and a simple story line. There was one scene where the hero played a round of golf with a set of garden tools instead of golf clubs. I wouldn't have known what was going on without a sighted assistant.

I'll give this movie a 7 because it's OK to follow, but it's definitely not one of the great ones.
